Good Dog Theatre

Good Dog Theatre aims to bring to life beautifully written, innovative and topical plays. In 2015 we staged the Irish premiere of "In On It" written by celebrated Canadian playwright, Daniel MacIvor. The show was a sell-out at Smock Alley Theatre and at the Creative Connexions festival in Barcelona. Described by The Sunday Business Post as ‘a timely and intelligent look at love’, In On It also raised over € 1000 for the Marriage Equality campaign. In 2016 we staged Remember Me, by the highly acclaimed French-Québecois writer, Michel Tremblay. The play ran as part of the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival in May 2016 and the Creative Connexions festival in Sitges, Barcelona in October 2016. "Men At Play", written and directed by Brian Burns, won the Best Theatre Production Award at the Galway Fringe Festival 2018 and features actors Kieran McBride and Ruairi Lenaghan. To show the human condition in all its shades through the physicality of the human body, its grit, edge, truth, honesty, beauty. To have an energetic exchange with an audience. To allow the audience space to feel, think, be. Sweaty, raw, hungry, percussive, pulsating work. Connecting the inside with the outside.

The Gaiety School of Acting – The National Theatre School of Ireland is a Not for Profit organisation founded in 1986 by the internationally renowned theatre director Joe Dowling, in response to the lack of full time actor training programmes in Ireland at that time. The School is now widely regarded as the country’s premier training facility for actors. Our policy is to train actors for theatre, film and television. The School has a broad offering; ranging from its two-year full time intensive actor training, adult One Year Part Time training, adult 10 week courses, weekend workshops to its successful Young Gaiety Drama classes for under 18s. The School also hosts a range of courses for international students delivered both in conjunction with US partner organisations and available for solo applicants. Its broad community and outreach scheme includes a highly successful Shakespeare in Schools programme for Leaving Cert students. In addition, the School provides a robust Corporate training facility with programmes specialising in Communication Skills, Leadership, Team Building and Brand Management.
