Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Studio & Outreach Producer is responsible for planning the activities of the INO Opera Studio in conjunction with the Artistic Director and managing all aspects of its operations. The INO Studio starts in September 2018 and will provide training, mentoring and high-level professional engagements for Irish opera artists as they develop a professional career. The INO Studio is planned to involve eight artists: four singers and four artists from other disciplines; conductors, directors, designers, répétiteurs, composers, librettists or others.

Opera Studio activities will include:

  • Regular vocal coaching with top Irish and international vocal coaches
  • Mentoring with leading creative artists
  • Roles and covers in INO opera productions
  • Opportunities to assist opera creative teams
  • Composing and writing opportunities
  • Masterclasses and workshops in singing, movement and stagecraft
  • Professional development seminars and workshops
  • Audition training
  • Language coaching

  • Participation in INO outreach programmes

The Studio & Outreach Producer is also responsible for devising a comprehensive company outreach programme in conjunction with the Artistic Director, as well as producing and managing all events. INO’s outreach events are designed to reach new and diverse audiences, stimulate interest in opera, deepen the understanding of and engagement with opera and increase the profile of the company. It is envisaged that some of these events will be planned in collaboration with other members of the INO team.

Responsibilities

INO Studio

  • In conjunction with the Artistic Director, plan and manage a programme of work and activities for individual participants
  • Elaborate and manage budget
  • Serve as principal liaison for participating artists
  • Plan and manage interventions by visiting artists
  • Track progress of participating artists
  • Contribute content for the company’s marketing and digital communications plans
  • Produce collateral content to raise the profile of the programme as necessary
  • Devise, plan and produce performance opportunities for participating artists
  • In collaboration with relevant personnel, manage process of selecting artists for the programme
  • Advise the company on emerging trends and practices in this field
  • Support the company’s fundraising and branding efforts as appropriate
  • Provide general administrative support to the company as required

Outreach Programme

  • In conjunction with the Artistic Director, create, implement and manage all aspects of outreach initiatives
  • Devise outreach strategy for the short and medium term
  • Identify and secure key partners for the delivery of outreach initiatives
  • Identify funding opportunities for outreach work and participate in funding applications where relevant
  • Commission market research as appropriate
  • Produce collateral content to raise the profile of the programme as necessary
  • Support the company’s broader fundraising and branding efforts as appropriate
  • Advise the company on emerging trends and practices in this field
  • In collaboration with relevant personnel, explore the use of new technologies in this field
  • Contribute analysis and ideas for the development of the company

Experience and Skills

The minimum requirement for the role are:

  • Minimum 3years substantial and relevant experience.
  • Strong administrativeskills
  • Degree or relevant higher qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong computer and ICT skills.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communications skills.
