Helium Arts invites applications from multidisciplinary artists with experience of collaborative and participatory arts practice working with children and young people including children with disabilities to join our Artist Panel. Artists will be contracted on a project to project, freelance basis over the next two years, to deliver our Creative Health Programme in community settings in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Dublin and surrounding counties. The role of Associate Artist is to deliver inspiring collaborative arts programmes which are responsive to the needs and vision of children and young people living with long-term health conditions, additional needs and disabilities. Artists should have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and a working understanding of inclusive arts practice relevant to the social and emotional needs of participants. Training and continued professional development will be provided, with up to four required training days to take place in December 2020. Helium Arts is the national children’s arts and health charity, developing the creativity of children living with long-term conditions to support their wellbeing including social connections, self-esteem, and sense of agency.
