Galway 2020 Artist Performances at the Heart of International Performing Arts Gathering
2-3 December 2020

Nineteen years after the International network for contemporary performing arts (IETM) hosted a Plenary Meeting in Galway, the network returns during Galway’s 2020 European Capital of Culture term. This Satellite Galway 2020 Meeting tackles one of the most urgent topics of our time: Climate Action, with an artistic programme delivered by Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture artists.

IETM Satellite Galway 2020 Meeting

IETM is a network of over 450 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide from theatre, dance, circus and performance, to interdisciplinary live art forms and new media. In response to the concerns of members, this meeting explores relationships between artists, the arts ecosystem and the planet. Through a digital programme of speeches, working groups, and conversations with artists, including world-renowned artistic directors Marc Mac Lochlainn and Garry Hynes, the role of mitigation, adaptation and artistic influence will be explored, and actions identified for the performing arts ecosystem to be sustainable. It takes place online in many homes, work and arts spaces in Galway, Europe and around the world on 2-3 December 2020. IETM Registration here.
