Contract: Contract for one year, subject to renewal, with six month probation period

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week / 21 hours per week / 0.6 FTE.

Salary: €26,257 per annum (€15,754 pro-rata 3 days per week).

As the leading support and development organisation for writers since 1991, the Irish Writers Centre (IWC) carries out its work, online and in person, on an all island basis. We work with writers of all types and talents, and actively encourage writers from all communities to engage in creative writing. Purpose and Scope of the Post

As the Events and Marketing Assistant at the Irish Writers Centre, you will play a pivotal role in the organisation’s communications as well as providing administrative and logistical support to the events and programmes. The Events and Marketing Assistant will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with the Administrator, the Programming Officer and the Communications and Marketing Officer as well as the wider team. The main areas of responsibility are to manage the logistics for events and programmes, digital marketing, developing marketing collateral, direct mail, distribution and market research. We need someone to join our team who is focused on customer care, and whose excellent skills in organisations and time management ensure the smooth running and timely delivery of our events and programmes. The candidate will ideally have a passion for the arts and a strong digital and copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail.

Hours will be regular based on a three-day week, but may comprise of half-days/evenings or full days and, in some instances, Saturdays.

Salary: €26,257 per annum (€15,754 pro-rata 3 days per week).

Location: Please note the post-holder will need to be Dublin-based to carry out the duties of this position.

The Irish Writers Centre is currently housed in 19 Parnell Square, Dublin. This is a Georgian building which unfortunately does not have a lift. There are five steps into the entrance level. The majority of IWC’s events and activities take place in the Kiely room, which is on the first floor and requires climbing 30 steps in total. Occasionally, the building has events on higher levels. There are public toilets available and these are located on the ground floor, basement and fourth floor of the building.
